Sustainability policy
We contribute to the whole
Sena specializes in organizing amazing experiences for companies and individuals. As a registered travel agency, we want to promote sustainability in tourism in Iceland, guided by this policy and its implementation in daily operations.
Sena will do its part to reduce the negative impact of the industry on the environment and at the same time contribute to the protection of Icelandic nature.
Sena's board and staff will therefore:
- Promote that the operation considers minimizing the negative environmental effects and having a positive effect on the local community.
- Work annually on improvements that contribute to less pollution and waste of value, e.g. through reuse, recycling, energy saving and the use of environmental friendly materials.
- Make sustainability policy visible to the public and generally encourage participation in protecting the environment with us.
- Promote the distribution of tourists in time and space when planning trips where appropriate.
- Promote the protection of cultural and natural heritage.
- Employ people from the local area when there is an opportunity to do so and emphasize cooperation with local suppliers.
- Focus on recycling and reducing paper use. We require that our staff sort waste and that communication both inside and outside the building be transferred to electronic form.
- Look for further education on environmental issues and pass that information on to staff and members.
- Rather choose eco-labelled products for cleaning and generally eco-friendly purchases. Selecting products that are considered less harmful to the environment and ar certified (such as "Svansvottun.)
- Computers and office equipment have appropriate environmental and energy-saving labels.
- That all hazardous materials are disposed of in an appropriate manner (printer cartridge, batteries, light bulbs, etc.prin
- Comply with the provisions of laws and regulations related to the activity.
- Review the company's sustainability policy annually.
