The music

Sena´s music department is both the largest label in Iceland as well as being the largest commercial agent for music from abroad.

Sena releases 50-70 new cd´s every year.  The variety is great, as Sena likes to sponsor different kinds of music. Sena does also own the publishing rights to a great deal of Icelandic music, that has already been released  and does therefore put pride and  effort into republication of that material. Another important element is Sena´s release of collective cd´s which include Icelandic as well as foreign songs.
As an example, Sena releases the music of Bubbi Morthens, Björgvin Halldórsson, Sálin hans Jóns míns and Ampop.

Sena is a commercial agent for severel rather small foreign labels as well as many of the major labels in the international music industry, like Universal, Warner. EMI and Sony/BMG. Cinema

Sena owns and runs 4 magnificent cinemas.

Smárabíó is the most complete cinema in the country. Its halls are all designed to please the cinema goer, so that he may enjoy the film in best conditions available. The halls have very big screens, awesome sound systems, good view, no matter where one is seated and a new type of chairs, fullfilling all quality demands. Smárabíó is equivalent to the best cinemas in the world today. The cinema holds 5 halls and can seat over 1000 people.

Regnboginn (The rainbow) opened in 1980, and was the first cinema in Iceland with more than one hall. The cinema is located at Hvefisgata 54, which is in the centre of Reykjavík.
Regnboginn has been through many makeovers throughout the years and does now take after Smárabíó in many ways. All the halls of Regnboginn have seats like the ones at Smárabíó, but these seats are renowned for their comfortableness. Græna ljósið (The green light) has its home base at Regnboginn.

Borgarbíó Akureyri has 2 halls and seats over 300 people. It´s one of few cinemas outside Reykjavík which opened before 1950, and is therefore one of the oldest cinemas in the country.

On May 1st 2007 Sena took over Háskólabíó, and gave the cinema an immediate, but very successful makeover. The cinema has 5 halls with 840 seats, which is a nice addition, and gives Sena an opportunity to show movies simultaneously at more places than before. Sena is now the largest cinema operator in Iceland.

Sena is also a commercial agent for many of the leading distributing companies in the world, including 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures, Focus Features, Weinstein Company and Icon Productions.
